My Poster About Me And My Family

This is my poster about me and my family if you cant see them or don't know what they are I will tell you.  My identity, mihi, what manaakitanga means to me, what whanaungatanga means to me and drawing the other half of my face.  I've been working on it for about 9 weeks.  You might think why I didn't just write it and ill tell you why I didn't just write it because that's just boring always writing stuff when you can do it in a fun way, that fun way is doing it with pictures or art and stuff like that.  I feel proud of my work because I spent a lot of time on it and I worked hard to get it finished.

My identity is my flag, family, what language I speck and my name.

My mihi is what school I go to, principal name, my teachers name, my room number, where i'm from, my family name and my name.

Manaakitanga means to me a good person that leads to things like this partner ship, participation, protection, happiness, kindness, friend ship, safe and nice and more words like that.

Whanaungatanga means to me that I will show hospitality, kindness, caring and friend ship and a scene of belonging to a group witch means they are asking to be apart of the group and agreeing to be nice, look after each other and be respectful.  ( with out Manaakitanga you wont have whanaungatanga )

drawing the other half of my face: first my teacher took a pitcher of me and printed it.  secondly, she cut it in half so their was the left and right half.  Then I practiced on the right half then I did it on the left half.  After that I coloured it in with pastel.  Lastly I died it blue and then I let it dry.  I was finally finished.

Remember you don't always have to write stuff you can do it in a fun way and if you come up with a fun way that I didn't mention please leave it on comment.  Thank you.

  1. Yes I agree we can express and communicate in many ways besides writing and oten thse can be more fun like through art ,drama ,music ect. I hope your school and teachers give you lots of opportunities to communicate in these ways. I value art and drama as much as the written word. Keep up your awesome page .

  2. Wow your thoughts and ideas are well written. And your expression of those two Maori concepts is beautiful.
